MY APPROACH

Maybe you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Maybe you’re going through a life transition that seems unmanageable. Or maybe you’re just tired of old patterns that don’t work anymore. A therapist can help you develop the tools to get through this challenge—and the next. Reaching out is the vital first step toward getting the help you need.

Using a combination of relational, psychodynamic and mindfulness techniques, I will help you understand your own emotional landscape, so you’re better equipped to manage stressful moments in life, and have more capacity for joy and meaning.

I specialize in working with the LGBTQIQ population and also with couples of all constellations. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples with sex and intimacy issues, including folks in the kink, poly and sexual outsiders communities. I have a high comfort level in talking about sex and feel lucky to be able to help others find more pleasure, empowerment and safety in these arenas.

Using a social justice lens, I primarily work relationally but also use somatic and mindfulness interventions with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression or other struggles. Relational theory is based on the idea that we all develop within relationships, through participation and engagement with others, and that the valuing of and capacity for meaningful connections are important components of psychological health. Just as wounding happens in relationships, especially early and primary ones, healing can take place within relationship.

Finding the right fit is an important part of creating the space to heal. During your free consultation, we can determine if I’m the right therapist for you.
